Celebrating Dragon Boat Festival
May 30, 2025
As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, we celebrate this traditional Chinese holiday with joy and gratitude.Rooted in over 2,000 years of history, this festival honors the legacy of Qu Yuan (c. 340–278 BC), a revered poet and loyal minister of the ancient Chu State.
This festival (5th day of the 5th lunar month, typically in June) honors Qu Yuan, a poet-statesman who protested corruption by drowning in the Miluo River. Legend tells us that Qu Yuan, heartbroken by his homeland's plight, took his own life in the Miluo River. Distraught villagers raced out in their boats, beating drums and splashing water to ward off fish and evil spirits, while scattering zongzi (sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves) into the water to nourish his spirit. This profound act of remembrance gave birth to the festival's enduring customs: dragon boat racing, the sharing of zongzi, and the hanging of fragrant herbs like mugwort and calamus for protection and good health.

At Lioncare, we believe that tradition inspires unity - just as our team works together with dedication and passion every day. To honor this special festival, we've prepared beautifully crafted zongzi gift boxes for all our employees, expressing appreciation for their hard work and fostering a spirit of connection and care. Our office is filled with festive decorations and laughter as we share the joy of this meaningful cultural moment together.
While we celebrate the festival spirit, we also kindly remind our valued global partners to plan orders and shipments in advance to ensure smooth delivery around this holiday period.
The Dragon Boat Festival reflects values we hold dear at Lioncare - protection, health, and harmony. We're proud to share not only our protective products but also a piece of Chinese cultural heritage with friends around the world.
From all of us at Lioncare, we wish you a joyful and peaceful Dragon Boat Festival. May the spirit of health, safety, and unity accompany you always.
