Celebrate Shangsi Festival With Us
Apr 01, 2025
The Shangsi Festival, celebrated on the third day of the third lunar month, is an ancient Chinese tradition. Dating back to the Zhou Dynasty (around 11th century BC), is one of China's oldest traditions. Ancient Chinese believed the third day of the third lunar month marked the return of spring and renewal of life. People would gather by rivers for ritual bathing ("Fuxi") to cleanse misfortune and pray for health. Over time, it evolved into a day for spring outings and artistic gatherings. Today, it's a joyful time to embrace nature and welcome the vitality of spring.
To honor this tradition, we hosted a Shangsi Festival event at our office, featuring kite painting, spring-themed baking, and herbal tea blending. Our team crafted vibrant kites, baked seasonal treats, and shared stories over fragrant drinks, immersing in the spirit of renewal.
🪁 Kite DIY
At our Kite DIY Activity area, creativity took flight! Armed with brushes and eco-friendly paints, employees transformed blank paper kites into vibrant artworks. Each kite carried personal wishes - some wrote "Health & Safety" to align with our mission, while others drew playful symbols of spring. When the kite flies into the blue sky, it seems that the blessing is also given to the whole world.

🧁 Baking Workshop
Flour, butter, and laughter mixed perfectly in our kitchen! Teams collaborated to bake seasonal treats: sakura-shaped cookies dusted with pink sugar, sticky rice "Qingtuan" (a traditional spring dessert), and fluffy matcha cakes. The best part? Sharing plates of warm goodies with colleagues - because sweetness tastes better together.

🍵 Refreshment Station
To refresh our creativity, we brewed drinks inspired by nature: rosy hibiscus tea with goji berries, honey-infused pomelo citrus blends, and sparkling mint lemonade. Served in handmade ceramic cups, every sip was a tribute to the harmony of tradition and modern tastes.
